This month we have chosen wines from the latest LCBO release. We've selected some great value wines that are ready to drink now as well as a few cellar-worthy bottles.

COUSIÑO-MACUL ANTIGUAS RESERVAS CHARDONNAY 2006
Maipo Valley, Chile CSPC# 730044, $14.95
This is a great value and well-made Chardonnay competing with wines twice the price. We have never really been that keen on Chilean Chardonnay until now.

YALUMBA VIOGNIER 2006
Eden Valley, South Australia CSPC# 954644, $22.95
Viognier this good at this price is hard to find. It has rich peach, pear and apricot flavours, is clean and crisp and finishes with a hint of spice.

LINGENFELDER RIESLING SPÄTLESE 2003
Grosskarlbacher Osterberg, Lingenfelder, Germany CSPC# 928192, $21.95
A fine spatlese with some classic Riesling elements. Enticing nose combines lemon candy, lime and mineral fragrances. Medium dry with good fruit focus and acidity. Well balanced with good length.

Opulent, voluptuous….keep the adjectives coming. This is actually a really good Shiraz that you can drink more than one bottle of.

Prunotto's Barolo is dry, full-bodied and elegant with an ideal balance of extract, alcohol, acidity and tannin. Give it 5+ years in a cellar.

LA SOUFRANDIÈRE POUILLY-VINZELLES, DOM. BRET 2004
Burgundy, France CSPC# 45971, $29.95
Jean-Guillaume and Jean-Philippe Bret have turned their passion for wine into a successful winery. This comes from 25- to 40-year-old vines from their own vineyard and is brimming with ripe, yellow apple fruit and integrated oak.

DOC Copertino Rosso, Puglis, Italy CSPC# 687004, $23.95
Divine Divoto. Appollonio is a modern, progressive winery located in Italy's boot. This intense wine displays lovely black fruit, soft tannins and lots of toasty oak with hints of leather and tobacco. An utterly ethereal experience.

MICHELE CHIARLO BARBERA D'ASTI SUPERIORE LE ORME 2005
Piedmont, Italy CSPC# 917518, $17.95
Michele Chiarlo's Barbera d'Asti Le Orme is made in a fruit-forward style. The aromas suggest blueberry, cherry, underbrush and a hint of oak. This is a ripe and generous wine from one of Piedmont's best producers.
